Important facts about filing a Design Application in Israel:

• Design application may be filed for any object or product with a novel, original and distinct shape or ornaments.
• Novelty of designs in Israel is considered any design that was not published in Israel (however, publication over the internet might be considered in Israel).
• Design is registered for 5 years and can be extend twice for a total of 15 years.
• Only one item may be registered with each application; an application for a set of items that used or sold together is allowed.

Filing requirements:

• Applicant’s details & address;
• Views from every direction of the object and perspective views (JPG/GIF format); Pictures of the actual product are allowed; No wording or numbers are allowed on the figures.
• Applicant’s origin of rights (inventor, contract or assignment, law etc.);
• Priority details and certified priority document, if such is claimed ( priority must be claimed within 2 months of filing, English translation required);
• Simply signed Power of Attorney (no legalization or notarization are required).
