According to the Israeli law the winning party is entitled to compensation for payments revolving the legal procedure.
The Manufacturers Association of Israel objected to extension of protection of Wyeth’s patent ad won.
As is customary, The Manufacturers Association of Israel filed a detailed request and evidence regarding the amounts paid. In this case, a unusually high sum was request – 412,000 NIS (~US$ 107,000).
The Judge in this case was the Patent Registrar, Mr. Asa Kling, after hearing the sides, issued a detailed decision in which he meticulously ruled regarding each of the presented budget sections.
The end result was that Wyeth is required to pay The Manufacturers Association of Israel a total sum of almost 206,000 NIS (~US$ 54,000).
Also, in this case the Patent Registrar issued a secrecy warrant that prohibits the publication of the agreement between The Manufacturers Association of Israel and its lawyers.
